Developing and cultivating a network of new researchers is a programmatic goal of New Connections.  The Annual Symposium was developed as an opportunity for junior investigators and senior consultants to share insights about the challenges and opportunities for underrepresented researchers in the field, learn from and network with senior scientists, and remain engaged with the New Connections program.
