2009 Research and Coaching Clinic
New Connections hosted our Third Annual Research and Coaching Clinic November 7-8, 2009 in conjunction with the American Public Health Association's (APHA) Annual Meeting and Exposition in Philadelphia.
The New Connections Annual Research and Coaching Clinic brings together diverse researchers in the early- and mid-career stages of professional development to enhance their skill sets and foster collaboration. Additionally, during the Research and Coaching Clinic early- and mid-career professionals engage with senior scholars, researchers, and professionals and benefit from training, career development, and mentoring opportunities.
The Third Annual Research and Coaching Clinic was held at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. We hosted an engaged group of 100+ diverse early- and mid-career researchers, scholars, and consultants.
Our Evening Reception on Saturday, November 7, 2009 was attended by Research and Coaching Clinic participants and speakers, New Connections program staff, and many of our colleagues and supporters.
On Sunday, November 8, 2009 Research and Coaching Clinic participants took part in workshops and sessions on the scholar role, effective writing, and communications strategies for translating research into policy. The keynote luncheon address was given by Professor Sam Myers on "The Economics of Diversity."
