Since 2006, New Connections has awarded 100 grants through its annual Call for Proposals (CFPs) and collaboration with other national program offices such as Healthy Eating Research-New Connections, Active Living Research-New Connections, and Public Health Law Research-New Connections. We are proud to have supported some of the best talent in the research and evaluation fields. Since the program’s launch, New Connections has been authorized for over $13 million. We have awarded funding to grantees whose backgrounds are as broad and varied as their research projects. They are educators, advocates, and community leaders. But most importantly, they are as passionate as they are talented.
New Connections has also sponsored five Annual Symposia and Annual Research and Coaching Clinics. Our events bring together diverse researchers in the early- and mid-career stages of professional development to enhance their skill sets and foster collaboration. These early- and mid-career professionals benefit from engaging with senior scholars, researchers, and professionals to take advantage of the training, career development, and mentoring opportunities New Connections offers.
As we move forward, New Connections will continue to support our grantees and alumni, engage with a network of diverse scholars that exists from pipeline to tenure-track, and collaborate with similar programs and organizations. Our goal is to increase awareness of the innovative and rigorous research and evaluation being conducted by the diverse and vibrant community of researchers and scholars that is New Connections.
